Lovejoy’s Pre-order Frequently Asked Questions

 

Do I have to pre-order?

We ask that parties of eight or more send us a pre-order the week before their tea. This not only helps out our small kitchen, but ensures your event goes smoothly. We’ll serve your food shortly after you sit. You can enjoy your friends and family without feeling pressured to look at the menu!

 

Does everyone need to have the same tea service (High Tea or Queen’s Tea)?

Yes, everyone will have the same tea service as it is served family style. This eliminates any confusion about who gets what.

 

Is there a tea service appropriate for children?

We have a Wee Tea for children under ten years old. The Wee Tea comes with one jelly and cream cheese sandwich, but any sandwich from our regular menu can be substituted. 

 

Can you accommodate food allergies/dietary restrictions?

Yes, please let us know if anyone in your group has allergies, is vegan/vegetarian, gluten free, etc. That guest should choose their own two sandwiches which will be plated separately for them.

 

Can we order more food during our tea?

Yes, that is no problem at all. You may add on any a la carte items while you are here.

 

Do I need to include my tea choice in my pre-order?

You are welcome to include your choice of tea  in your pre-order if you’d like, but it’s also okay to choose your flavor of tea when you get here. We do start your party with two of our favorite teas complimentary.

 

Can we bring a cake for our celebration?

Yes, we can put your cake on a cake pedestal on the table for you to serve, for a $5 fee, or we can plate and serve the cake for you for a $2 per person fee. Please let us know if you’ll be bringing a cake when you pre-order.

 

Do you serve alcohol, or can we bring our own?

There is no alcohol in the Tea Room, we do not have a permit that allows alcohol on the premises.
